Executive Seat

Team-wide analytics and insights for sales leaders.

The Executive Seat is designed for VPs, CROs, and executives who need team-wide visibility and analytics without daily coaching responsibilities. Executive seats are free, read-only, and unlimited — only the Manager seat is paid.

Executive navigation now uses the shared app URLs that managers and reps also use. The page experience still changes based on the active seat and organization context.

What You Get

Executive Analytics

  • Daily Executive Brief — Automatically written summary of team performance
  • Team Attention Matrix — Reps with attention scores across managers
  • Manager Performance — Average scores and metrics by manager
  • Coaching Impact Report — Correlation between coaching frequency and rep performance
  • Rep Benchmarking — Per-rep scorecards with team distribution analysis
  • Pipeline Flow Analysis — Deal stage progression and conversion rates
  • Forecast views — Historical forecast vs actual and pipeline weighted by stage probability (directional, not board-grade)

Team Oversight

  • Read-only access to team and coaching data across managers
  • Cross-team analytics and comparisons from the executive's visible organization
  • Manager performance comparison

For org executives, SMVue rolls up the manager workspaces linked to the executive's organization. The executive overview, trends, coaching, rep performance, and manager drilldowns aggregate those workspaces into one read-only oversight surface while each workspace is still read through its own tenant boundary.

Read-Only Access

  • View notebooks (cannot create or edit)
  • See meetings and action items (cannot create)
  • Access deal data and pipeline

What You Don't Get

Executive Seats are read-only oversight, not coaching tools:

❌ No Sales Coach ❌ No Meeting Prep (1:1 game plans) ❌ Cannot create notes, action items, or meetings ❌ Cannot manage team members or integrations

Why: Executive Seats are for oversight and strategy, not day-to-day coaching.

Who Should Have Executive Seats

Executive Seats are for:

  • VPs of Sales who oversee multiple managers
  • CROs who need org-wide visibility
  • Sales Ops leaders who track team performance
  • Executives who need data but don't coach directly

How Executives Land in the Executive View

There are two supported paths:

  1. Persona onboarding: A new owner can choose the Sales Executive persona during onboarding. SMVue first records that intent and routes the user to the organization setup flow. When the executive confirms the organization, SMVue creates the executive oversight workspace, links it to the organization, and converts the owner to the free executive see-all seat.
  2. Seat assignment: An owner can assign an Executive seat to an existing workspace member from Team settings.

Org executives hold their see-all authority at the organization level. Their own oversight workspace is an executive workspace, and invited manager workspaces join the same organization so the executive can view the roll-up without switching into each manager's workspace.

Executive navigation uses the shared app paths from the header navigation config:

  • Command Center/dashboard
  • Team/team
  • Acquisition/acquisition
  • Pipeline/pipeline
  • Performance/performance
  • Analytics/analytics
  • Coaching/coaching
  • Impact Report/impact-report

Use these shared URLs for links and bookmarks.

Executive Analytics Deep Dive

Coaching Impact Report

What it shows:

  • Coaching frequency vs rep performance correlation
  • Manager ROI analysis (which managers' coaching drives best results)
  • Effectiveness by coaching dimension (pipeline, skills, relationships)

Use Cases:

  • Understand if coaching is driving outcomes
  • Identify which managers need coaching on coaching
  • Justify coaching investment to board/CEO

Rep Benchmarking

What it shows:

  • Per-rep scorecards (pipeline, quota, win rate)
  • Team distribution analysis (who's top/middle/bottom)
  • Manager comparison (how do teams compare)

Use Cases:

  • Identify top performers for promotion/recognition
  • Spot struggling reps for intervention
  • Compare manager effectiveness

Pipeline Flow Analysis

What it shows:

  • Deal stage progression over time
  • Conversion rates between stages
  • Time in each stage (velocity)

Use Cases:

  • Identify bottlenecks in sales process
  • Optimize stage definitions
  • Coach managers on accelerating deals

Forecast Views

What it shows:

  • Historical forecast vs actual (by period)
  • Forecast trends over time
  • Manager-level forecast comparisons

Use Cases:

  • Improve forecast discipline
  • Spot sandbaggers or over-optimists
  • Inform forecast conversations

Note: Forecast figures are directional and still being hardened for correctness — treat them as a read on the trend, not board-grade numbers.

Executive Seat Pricing

Executive seats are free, read-only, and unlimited on every plan (Solo and Team). The Manager seat is the only paid seat — there's nothing to purchase to add executives.

Getting Executive Access

New executives can come through the Sales Executive onboarding persona, which creates the executive organization path described above. Existing workspace members can also be given the Executive seat manually by an owner:

  1. Go to Settings > Team
  2. Find the user
  3. Click Change Seat TypeExecutive Seat
  4. Confirm

There's no billing impact — Executive seats are free. If the user is an org executive, their roll-up comes from the organization membership and linked manager workspaces, not from a paid manager seat.

Partner Access (Special Case)

Partner access is not an Executive seat. It's a separate, revocable grant that lets an external partner (such as a sales advisor or consultant) see a client's organization. It is managed from Settings > Partners.

  • By default, a partner gets a read-only view of the whole client org — without holding a paid manager seat.
  • An org owner can narrow the partner's access to specific team members.
  • If you want a partner to do hands-on work, an owner can optionally assign an available paid manager seat to the linked partner; that seat can also be removed later while keeping the default read-only partner view.
  • Partner access is revocable at any time, and client-org reads by a partner are logged.

Partner access is granted during client onboarding or from Settings > Partners by an org owner.
